Red Deer Shooting Sports Association

Action - IPSC

International Practical Shooting Confederation is an extreme action-shooting discipline that incorporates accuracy, power, speed, and safety.  Our IPSC group practices Tuesday evenings from 7:00 pm until dusk, during the fall with shorter evenings we move to Saturday 12:00 noon until 2:00pm.  IPSC matches are held throughout Canada.  We have one or two club matches per year.
The Black Badge Course:

This course is a pre-requisite for any shooter to participate in IPSC matches. Our club has typically put on one or two courses per year, depending on the number of interested participants. The Black Badge course is a mandatory safety course for anyone who wants to shoot in IPSC sanctioned matches. This course takes novice shooters, who have already obtained their PAL (Possession and Acquisition) license, and not only teaches them basic gun safety but introduces them to the rules and regulations for IPSC match contestants. The Course is two day hands-on where you will shoot around 500 rounds of ammunition in practical exercises, ending with a mini- IPSC match. This is a great way for the beginning handgun enthusiast to learn how to have fun while safely handling firearms. For more information about the Black Badge Course send email or click on the NEWS section for up and coming courses.
