Range Safety: Members certify by their signature on the membership application form that they know and accept all range rules.
Membership may be revoked by the executive committee at any time if safety issues are not respected.
All members are responsible for their own safety, the safety of any other shooters on the range, and the safety of any guests. It is assumed that all members respect the rules of safe firearms handling, and that they will seek assistance before attempting use of an unfamiliar firearm.
A qualified Range Safety Officer, certified by a recognized agency, must be present when two or more persons are on the firing line at the same time. The Safety Officer may direct unsafe persons to leave the range.
The sign at the range gate must be opened to “Caution – Range in Use” and the red flag at the range southeast corner must be flown whenever the range is in use for any shooting activities.
Loaded firearms are permitted only on the firing line. Eye and ear protection is mandatory for any person on or near the firing line. Non-shooters must remain safely behind the firing line.
Alcohol and other intoxicating drugs are forbidden on the range.
Members will report their activities using the sign-in book in the range building.
In future those reports may be used to determine whether members’ activities justify renewal of firearm transport permits.
Range Courtesy: The range is rented from the family who live in the farmyard south of the range. The road into the range passes their home and is crossed by their children. Speed limits must be respected. No member will trespass on the farmyard, or use it to enter the range.
Shooters will clean up after they are done shooting. Used paper targets will be placed in barrels or removed. Steel and other props will be moved off the range. Used brass will be picked or swept up, and placed in containers if it’s not removed for reloading. Food or beverage containers, etc, will be removed from the range.
Range facilities and equipment will be respected by all shooters and guests. Damaged equipment or dangerous conditions will be reported to a member of the executive, who may close the range until the condition is repaired.
Club shooting leagues and some corporate members have designated times for shooting. Competitions and other special activities may reserve the range for specific times. All of those activities will be posted on the range calendar. Outside of those reserved times members will share the range to provide the best shooting experiences for every member.
All members have a responsibility to assist with range maintenance and to participate in club meetings.
